My mission at Bright Little Socks is to help you create the life of your dreams. I do this because I believe that living our dreams is one of the fundamental ways in which we can change the world.

I want this site to be as helpful as possible for you. That’s why I’m asking you one small but important question today:

What are you struggling with when it comes to creating a life you love?

Leave me a comment below. Even if it’s just something small, don’t hesitate. The more I know about you and your situation, the more I can create things that are of value to you and our community.

I’ll read and reply to every comment. Because you, my readers, mean the world to me.

I’m struggling to launch a blog I’ve been thinking about for almost two years. I am very impressed with yours, and I’m trying to learn from it. Do you have a WordPress support person you could recommend?

    • Iris says:

Glad you enjoy the blog. I don’t have a go to person, but whenever I have a problem I turn to the fizzle community. So far they’ve always been able to solve my problems and been really supportive.

You can check it out here: http://www.fizzle.co

I am struggling to get through school with my sanity intact, lol. I am finding that a degree in science is much harder than it sounds, even when you love science. It’s not because the coursework is difficult, but it’s because the professors/scientists running the classes insist on doing things like answering student questions with new questions; giving indirect, convoluted answers that really don’t answer the original question and finally, they also like to tell you to figure it out for yourself. As if it all wasn’t stressful enough. I am certainly not willing to give up my dream, especially because I have come so far (technically, I have passed the point of no return and would be crazy to throw it all away). I guess I am struggling to exist in a world with people who are extraordinarily antisocial, elitist and all around difficult to deal with. My question to myself: Is this my future? Will I one day become like these people? Will I one day gain pleasure from screwing with the heads of impressionable students? Maybe this is just a lesson to keep my own ego in check and remember that, even with the title of scientist, I better never get too big for my britches. Oh, Bright Little Socks, you always manage to send me an email at the right time. Universal interconnectedness for sure… :)

Haha, I love that my emails always come timely for you. Glad I’m able to help!

It seems like your passionate about your topic, but not so passionate about your industry.

What I find to be most helpful is to ask myself questions and journal on them. You could ask yourself “What would I do if I knew I could not fail?” That would be a great starting point. :)

I’m struggling with figuring out what I want to do with my life and what will make me truly happy. I hate college and the conveyor belt its putting me on, and I am dropping out after this semester. However, as a life-long overachiever, perfectionist, and “smart kid,” I am having a kind of existential crisis because everyone expected I would succeed in college. But I hate it.
I have dreams of blogging and being an entrepreneur while traveling the world. I am just trying to figure out how to monetize that.

p.s. I just found your blog today. I love the concept! :)

    • Iris says:

      Hey Mariah,

that’s something I can definitely relate with. I always had good grades in school and then came into college only to start questioning EVERYTHING in my life.

My best advice for you would be to keep exploring what is important to you, meaning your values, your passions, your strengths and your definition of success. This is how I figured out what I wanted to do. And then of course it’s important to start taking baby steps into the direction you wanna go. You wanna start a blog? How can you do that? Are there any resources you could use (I’d look at Corbett Barr’s advice, he has helped me launch and grow my blog). Just keep learning and taking action. It will work out. :)

i am struggling with doing what I love for a profit instead of a job I hate doing everyday. Im working on starting a handbag business online but its not like I can quit my job tomorrow. It will take a long time to get to that point…….
